Very impressive is the Saturday street market in Guadix.  It attracts thousands of people and it occupies most of the town centre.  You will find antiques, paintings, clothes and furniture whilst the scent of fine spices will guide you through the narrow streets of this magnificent city.  The market is so big that you may want to stop for a refuelling drink, and its tapa, before you carry on shopping.

The castle in La Calahorra, situated 5km from Dólar, is a 16th century Renaissance building, declared Site of Cultural Interest.  Once in La Calahorra, drive for another 5 minutes to Alquife, site of the remains of open cast mines and the miner's village.
